With Shaker Village now wavering on our list of sites to have potential events, the future of ALEP may be in peril as well. Tim has stated that it may be next to impossible to hold another ALEP there, but he also hasn't expressed any interest in holding an ALEP anywhere else. If it's no longer profitable, he may drop it like a hot rock. We shall see, but if he does, we may want to consider saving it from passing into the west.

That is something to consider if that comes to pass. At this point, it's probably a matter of waiting and seeing what happens after ALEP 4.5 next spring.

Note: contrary to popular belief (and by my own admission), I have not lost my interest in Tolkien. I don't 'stop liking' things. I lost interest in ALEP because of its involvement with Tim. Should he forfeit it, it may be a side interest in our company. The State Park venues would be a natural for that event, as it's more rustic. ALEP is panel-based, and we wouldn't have to conjure up a story, although it should have a theme.

Let us not say the day is done.

I will make this prediction here so it can be seen in writing: I think this 'Whitney the Witch' who has taken over will burn herself out in a year or two or move on to greener pastures. THEN, I think SV will be more willing to return to the table.

Certainly worth consideration. Though I would hate to take too much on at this juncture while we're still getting our legs under us as a new company.

Agreed. Hoggstowne is and should remain our top priority. We've got more than our work cut out for us getting that event to it's feet, although I have no doubt we will.
